It‘s time for a miracle. All the lobsters in the world could not make up for the Ambrosia we are about to make. I say we… because I hadn‘t counted on one thing…
As Jules was about to put little Juliette to bed the whole Field family rose from their graves.
And although they got to know one another well over time, it was still a bit frightening having them around.
I was in the kitchen, checking if I had everything I needed for the most incredible dinner party ever.
I left some of the life fruit on the counter and went to harvest just some more.
I hadn‘t noticed Lauren walk right by to go into the kitchen to check the ingredients as well.
I guess after all these years of waiting, she just couldn‘t resist.
Humming and singing she was, the sounds from the kitchen were unearthly.
Lauren paused a moment to soak it all in. THIS… this was what she had been waiting for all of her life, and all of her death…
She, and only she was to fulfill her life time wish and gave over to this most exquisite dish of them all. Years of waiting and the anticipation of the wonder of it, she ate the Ambrosia.
I could‘ve never, ever tell you about this if we didn‘t witness what happened next. Lauren became, how shall I say… like a goddess, as she felt the strength of the Ambrosia warm the core of her dead being.
There were bells chiming and *PUFFFF*.
Chester III heard the chimes. It was not for another hour to sit at the Miracle Dinner as we agreed upon. He went inside.
He couldn’t believe his eyes… Chester was silent. For once in his life (and death) he didn‘t have the words to express what he felt seeing his precious Lauren alive and well.
Then he pulled Lauren close. Hugged her… and uttered a big and long ghostly sigh.
“You never looked this good my sweet“ he whispered.
Lauren said he should just sit and wait for the dinner party to begin. She was going to help the one who made it all possible…ME! She was talking about me… Marge Engstrom!
I set the table and now it was time for the rest of the Fields to sit down and enjoy dinner.
Chester sat down. The day had arrived they had been waiting for since they died a long time ago.
I watched him from a distance. Jules sat down to keep him company and ate the Ambrosia also. Boy…! Our family would probably live forever!
And so it happened. For the second time we witnessed this miracle of life.
Chester III joined us in the world of the living a new man. There was just one more Field we had to bring back.
It was not until the next morning we were able to get Chester in the house. I had so carefully prepared the whole family to sit together on this special occasion. It didn’t work like that. I guess, eating Ambrosia is so special, it is not for a big group.
The Chesters needed just a couple of hours to persuade. Would he, the only Field ghost left… please join them in the world of the living? It took them a while to convince him.
Now we would have to prepare fresh Ambrosia once more. Fortunately, we still had a life fruit.
Lauren went quickly to the garden to harvest the fruit. Jules was thinking what this would mean for simkind. She felt if though she were a doctor…; the sims wouldn’t have to fear death anymore….
It was my turn now. I would make Ambrosia for my son in law’s dead dad. I invited him to sit at my table and made my way into the kitchen.
You know… learning the recipe is not that hard. But being surrounded by people you care that much about and serving them the ambrosia is another thing. As I told you before, It‘s all about caring and love.
There is no other way. Love is the one thing that keeps us going in life. I think I wouldn‘t want to live forever, but helping these people gave me such a feeling of gratitude. Gratitude for life and gratitude for the love of my family.
Here it goes… The Perfect Dish… AMBROSIA!
And came back to life right after he swallowed the last bite.
Since that day, Lauren became my best friend. We eat salad, because that‘s our favorite dish.
The Field men are discussing money, business, health and pleasure as they always had.
And my Jules? After eating the ambrosia she’s again a very young woman. I guess I will have more grandchildren some day. And since I want to be around long enough to witness it all, I might as well try the ambrosia myself one of these days!
THE END
