All we needed now was to find out exactly how we could help them. What was it that they thought we could do. I’ve always been afraid of ghosts. If it weren’t for Charlie. I’m not 100% sure I could even stay here.

He always brought me comfort. Why, I do believe that I was falling for Charlie. In order for us to help them, it meant a lot of talking with them. Oh Boy, I sure hope I have a good supply of smelling salts…or whatever that stuff is called.

And so it began. Every night we would go out to the graveyard. We became more familiar with them. They came to such tragic unexpected deaths. At one time they had all lived in the house. My house. Sabrina in a mysterious fire who is also Rhett’s beloved wife. Lily drowned like my cousin Rhett.

I was at my lap top and here comes Rhett. Oh dear..

I have to do this, there is no way around it. I wonder how long I would be able to stay on my feet.

Well, not very long. I thought I heard Rhett say to Charlie “Man, she out again!”

I wasn’t out very long. At least the spells are getting shorter. Charlie came in to fill me in on what he found out so far. And of course he was followed by Rhett. “Affera” Charlie said. “Here’s what we have to do.” “We need to contact the Science Place.”

The next morning or later that day rather. Charlie and I were, or was it just me talking. “Charlie, look up here please, up here, my eyes, my eyes are up here.”

“Oh Sorry.” Charlie said. It made me giggle. I think I made him blush a bit. Back to the topic at hand. Charlie had found out that the Science Place had the technologies to revive a ghost. All we needed was the Urn of the ghost. Humm that shouldn’t be too hard. We thought we would start with Rhett.

Once arriving at the Science Place. I gave Charlie Rhett’s Urn. Only time would tell if it worked or not.

Several hours later. They both appeared. No! No! Failure! It did not work. Now, because of what we did Rhett is now in between worlds. Doomed to walk day and night. Gees I think I need to go into therapy or something.,

Once I regained consciousness. Rhett told us “There is another way.” and then he added the ultimate dreaded word “but”. “But what?” Charlie and I said at the same time. “You will need to find the ancient ones for only they can tell you what you need to know.”

We both knew exactly what Rhett meant. Legend tells that the ancient ones are below the Crypt in the very cemetery that is in front of my house. We had to make it right and that was something Charles had to do. I would never make it out alive.

I waited and waited for Charlie’s return. Finally! He found me in the kitchen.

I was so happy to see that he remained in the world of the living that I pulled him into a kiss.

We called Rhett to come down so we could all talk about what the ancient ones had told him.

Charlie revealed that he was given a map.

“Somewhere in Sunset there is a church. The ancient ones spoke of it as a powerful place and that it is hidden. The map they gave me will lead us to it.” “They said it is a place of life. A living flower grows there and we must use it in a recipe” I asked Charlie “What is the recipe?” He responded “They did not tell me. That is something we have to figure out.”

We headed out that night in search of the church.

Walking along the sidewalk. We came up on the wooded area thick with trees. The smell of wild flowers was heavy in the air.

Through the wild flowers running along the ground. I think there is a path here. I called to Charlie and Rhett. “Here, over here.”

We followed the path and the closer we got. The woods just opened up and the most gracious church appeared. The ground vibrated with power. We were in total awe of the sight we beheld.

Rhett went into the church. He said that he remembered this place from a long time ago. He came here when he was little. He had forgotten about it. I guess one loses parts of their memory upon passing.

I went to find the plants. I found perfect fruits and vegetables. But the Plant of life wasn’t to be seen. Just then I heard this strange little crunching sound like someone was walking up towards me.

I turned with a start. Oh my goodness, a garden gnome, frozen in place, solid as a rock. He wasn’t there a moment ago. How in the world did he get here? What is he pointing at? I had to go find out.

Here it is in all its glory. The life plant. Glowing, with all it’s wonderful power. I wonder if I’ll ever know where that little garden gnome came from.

I harvested the little plant. There were only two. So I must be careful. I gave my thanks to the powers that be.

Rhett was explaining to me about the recipe Ambrosia he thought it was called. I was eager to give it a try.

The very next day I went to the book store and on my gosh. They had a book of recipes. Ambrosia was among them. Pricey little recipe, but alas I bought it anyway. This is the one that would restore Rhett back to his life.

Back at home Charles and I worked in the garden. I planted one of the life fruits. I kept the other one in a safe place. All that was needed now was a perfect Deathfish.

And here I am. Oh my god look at all of them. Focus on fishing. Keep my eyes on the water. I must close my ears to block them out. Keep fishing.

To be continued…
