Welcome back to yet another ghostly tale.

My name is Affera StJohn and here I live with my friends who are doomed to walk the afterlife. Charlie and I are working very hard to help them find peace.
Thank you all so much for reading the third and final Chapter.

*****

After many nights. Finally I caught a perfect Deathfish.

While I was there at the city’s main Cemetery something else caught my eye. What in the world is that!

Oh my god, I’ve never seen anything like that flower before. I must be getting braver because I had the nerve to pick it. I had to show it to Charlie.

I arrived home just before dawn. Charlie always left for work early in the morning. I do so hope he was awake. Not that we got that much sleep. I walked into the living room and nearly ran right smack into Theodore Lum. I guess I just met Lily’s beloved husband.

Charlie walked up just then. “Charlie, I caught one, a deathfish. We were now one step close to making Ambrosia. Oh and I have something else too.” “A very strange looking flower, dark with a face of a skull in the middle.” Theo, as we are going to call him, spoke up and said. “Well now, that could only be the Death flower.”

“You are suppose to give it to the Reaper when he comes. I think it could save your life. I’ve never been able to find one. Too bad, maybe when I was electrocuted, having one would of saved my life. Or maybe the life of my wife.” Theo said sadly. The talk of death and reapers was just so hard to listen too.

I took the death flower out to the garden and planted it. I wouldn’t mind having a few myself.

It was time for Charlie to go to work. He came to see how I was. Our relationship has grown. I was as happy as I could be. Off to work he goes and off to bed for me.

That evening, it was time. I sat with Rhett. I asked if he was ready to do this. I hope with all my heart that nothing went wrong. He said he was ready, “why not. I don’t have anything to lose.”

I began to prepare the Ambrosia recipe. With all the perfect ingredients. The life fruit from the church and the deathfish I had caught the day before.

I stirred it ever so gently.

Ok, here we go into the oven with you.

It was now ready. I have never, in my life, seen such a beautiful display of colors that came steaming from this precious delicacy.

He finished so quickly that I didn’t even see him eat. Strange things began to happen. He started floating. I felt I should move. I had no idea what was about to happen.

He became bright, bright as the sun, so bright that I had to shield my eyes from the sight of him.

There he stood. Human once again. Oh wow. I was so excited I thought I was going to faint. I held my feet flat on the floor. I could not believe my eyes.

“Oh my dear Affera. It worked! Now Rhett, you now have a second chance with this life. Maybe you should stay away from water and go out into garden and pick your self a Death Flower, who knows maybe it will come in handy one day.” Charlie said as he walked into the room.

“Affera how could I ever thank you.” He said with tears in his eyes. “Oh my dearest cousin, you don’t have to thank me.” Just don’t go around telling everybody.” I said back to him with a giggle. Soon it will be Sabrina’s turn.

The excitement drained me. I needed to rest. I ask Charlie to be with me. I invited him to lay beside me.

And yes, it wasn’t long before you know what happened….

Hearts began to float down from heaven.

Meanwhile, downstairs something wonderful was taking place.

I had left a plate in the fridge. Sabrina got it. She knew she was to wait till one of us could be with her. What if something went wrong.

But we knew when the change happened for her. Because she lit up the house!

I was so happy for them.

“Affera, thank you so much, now Rhett and I can complete our lives thanks to you.” No dear Sabrina please do not thank me. I’ll say to you as Charles said to Rhett. Please stay away from fire, would you do that for me?” “Oh yes, you can count on it.” she replied. “There is a plant in the garden you need to pick one and have with you always.” I told her.

They were whole again. Tears slid from my eyes. I felt so warm inside.

Lily came to the garden to see me. Her excitement was evident. She was ready also.

She ate, and just like the others she changed.

One more to go. I think I have happy the happiest X-ghosts in town.

With a thank you hug. “Charlie, Affera, you two will never know how grateful I am.” “Oh, I bet we do.” Said Charlie.

Following Lily was our last ghost. Theo

Theo, in a flash, changed so quickly.

A moment shared. I couldn’t stop the tears.

Hugging everywhere. “Theo, now, you hire a repairman to fix those electronic things when they break.” “Yes Charles, I will.”

“Affera honey, how about we go to dinner tonight. You know to celebrate what you have done for our ghostly friends and most of all what you have done for you cousin Rhett.” ” Charlie, I would be honored, and we did this together. I could not have done this without you.”

Charlie asked me to marry him. What do you think I said? WOOOHOOO!

A personal note to all of you who have read this story. The true ghost were not used after they changed in this story. The change was not what I had expected it to be. They were substituted by Sims that I made to match the ghosts in their human form.
Thank you all so much for reading. This was truly a joy.
