Just Another Life Story – Part 6

Part 6 - 01

If the person who wanted to separate them thought that she had been successful, she was terribly wrong because very soon she saw Chester and Ilona again at the Bistro.

Part 6 - 02

She took place very near the table their table. She did if though she was reading but she was trying to overhear their conversation. Yes, you are right. It’s Cynthia, the woman who had been so bad to Chester when he was a young adult.

Part 6 - 03

She was very envious; it’s her character. She couldn’t do anything about it. She was just not capable of keeping a man’s interest. That’s why she felt sick when she saw other people in love.
Chester only had eyes for Ilona so he didn’t notice the presence of Cynthia.

Part 6 - 04

A few days after, when they were again at the Bistro, Cynthia was bad humored and when she saw Chester and Ilona hugging, she just pushed Chester. He couldn’t keep his balance and he fell.

Part 6 - 05

While he fell, she shouted: “Why don’t you watch out where you stand, you idiot!”

Part 6 - 06

Ilona went inside the Bistro to see if there would be somebody able to stop this unpleasant confrontation. A young man came outside and tried to stop the word fight between Chester and the woman and he did a real good job. Meanwhile Ilona sat down because she had become very nervous.

Later, when Chester brought her home, he said that it wasn’t important at all but Ilona never had seen Chester that upset… She wondered why…

Part 6 - 07

Chester felt horrible when he found out that Cynthia was around and it took him a long time to be able to sleep. As disgrace never comes alone, the burglar’s alarm woke him up.

Part 6 - 08

After that it cost him again a lot of work to fall asleep again. He just did not understand how Cynthia could be so mean to him; he had not even gone to the Police when she had robbed him. He still remembered the devilish way she looked at him.

He tried to get her off of his mind. He had some hard working days ahead because he had to work extra hours for an important investigation. On that depended if he would have a promotion. He had told Ilona already that he had to work more during a week and he was very sorry about it.

Part 6 - 09

Ilona then, spent a few days alone. In order not to be bored, she took long walks. Most of the time she ended up on a terrace. That day a women asked her is she could take place at her table.  She took a laptop out and started writing and at the same moment she chatted with Ilona.

Part 6 - 10

Then the woman explained that she was writing a novel. It was based on a real story that happened to a woman who helped her a few days weekly with her household. She said that the assistant’s name was Cynthia and she had to earn her living cleaning up houses because her husband, Chester Hemmingway, had abandoned her without caring about giving her money to be able to live. Now this Chester had found somebody else to fool. Her name was Ilona Picasso. But this Ilona however deserved it because she had abandoned her twins after giving birth.
Ilona stood up and said: “If this story is inspired on reality, you’d better change the names; otherwise you could have serious problems with justice, just because you believe somebody working in your household.”

Part 6 - 11

Then she went to another terrace where she sat down and ordered something to drink.
Ilona is a very smart woman and it didn’t take her a long time to combine the anonymous letter with the ordinary woman at the Bistro. She wanted to ask Chester what his relationship was with that woman because she suspected that he knew her but she didn’t think that he was married to her. She did not want to bother him while investigating for his work so she would be patient until they would see each other again.
She was a little nervous but tried to tranquilize herself thinking of the nice character of Chester.

Part 6 - 12

Chester had finished his investigations one day before expected and got a real good promotion. He cleaned his house and he thought that it was too small. Besides that, there was a lot of humidity. On the other side of the street, there was an old farmer’s house that had recently been modernized. He decided to buy it.

Part 6 - 13

Afterwards he called Ilona to tell her about his new acquisition but she didn’t let him speak. She asked right away: “Chester, is that woman that shouted at you at the Bistro, familiar to you?”
Chester said: “Why do you ask that?”
Then Ilona told him about the woman with the laptop and what she had told her.
Chester took a deep breath and he told everything about Cynthia and he was pleased to hear that Ilona believed him.

Part 6 - 14

Chester was aware that he couldn’t leave things how they were right now. He had to take some important steps.
He made a phone call to his work asking for the next day off. They told him that there was no problem.
He looked in the telephone book if he could find the address of Cynthia del Campo but he couldn’t find it. Then he had the idea of looking in the professional pages and there he found her under “household assistants”.
Now that he knew her address, he prepared himself mentally about what he was going to say.
Next day he took his bike to her place, because this last week he had been sitting and investigating all the time, so he needed a bit of movement.

Part 6 - 15

After half an hour, he arrived at a small house. He rang the bell but there was nobody home.

Part 6 - 16

He crossed the street to a bar-restaurant and had a sandwich and a tonic.

Part 6 - 17

Afterwards he went back but there was still nobody. He waited a moment and decided to go home when all of a sudden Cynthia came walking.
Cynthia: “What are you doing here?”

Part 6 - 18

Chester: “I would like to talk to you. Let’s say that I just want to shake hands. The past is forgotten and I wouldn’t like to repeat a scene like the other day in front of my best friend.

Cynthia: “Oh, you mean that creep who abandoned her twins?”

Now Chester really got mad and he said: “So it was you… I should have known… you really are a bad woman! And I thought that I could shake hands with you.”

Part 6 - 19

Chester: “Leave us alone and don’t you dare to come close to Ilona because I love her and I’ll ask her to marry me.”
Cynthia in a sarcastic way: “Oh, how romantic…”

Part 6 - 20

Now Chester was not very sure but he tried to sound sure of himself when he said: “I think that I’m not the only person that you fooled. I know Mr. Koffi’s story and I bet that you did that to him.

Considering Ilona; they have seen you searching for her private information at the internet register of SimCity and the Simish Islands. That should be enough for the Police to investigate on you.

Part 6 - 21

Cynthia: “Well, well; the little boy has grown up. Quite smart of you and yes; that’s all true. That Ilona of yours shouldn’t throw her correspondence into the trashcan. That’s how I came to know where she is from. She still receives letters from the Simish Islands, telling her how the twins are. Further on it was very easy to get all her information. And speaking about Koffi… yes I stole everything from him and he even had to give me a 2 month salary, because the fool felt sorry for me… That’s all true but you cannot prove anything….nothing at all.

Part 6 - 22

Chester (pokerfaced): “That’s what you think. I’ve got a small recorder in my pocket and every word that you said is on that recorder. You dug you own grave. This is enough evidence to go to the Police and you will be out of the running during many years.

Part 6 - 23

Cynthia said: “I’m fed up with you, go to hell!”

She went inside wondering if Chester had told the truth.

Part 6 - 24

Chester went to the bar-restaurant and he saw from the window how Cynthia left with all her belongings.
He sighed with relief and was happy that his lie had worked because he had no recorder at all…
Before going home, he went to a jewelry shop. He had a shave and phoned to Ilona.

Just Another Life Story – Part 5

Part 5 - 01

After that dinner, they met more often. They did some footing together or went to the theater and they talked a lot about their hobbies; music, literature and animals. Both wondered why there were no animals allowed in Sunset Valley and they hoped that the law would soon be changed because both of them loved to have a pet.

Part 5 - 02

They got to know each other quite well. Now and again there still were moment that there was a sensual loaded silence between them but then they used to start telling some jokes until the moment passed.

Part 5 - 03

They became common “huggers” because there still was nothing of a kiss. Not because Ilona didn’t want to. By this moment she was ready for it but she hadn’t told Chester and Chester had promised himself to be respectful with her. So their eyes, their hearts and their bodies were hungering for each other in a more intimate way but they still behaved as “good friends”.

Part 5 - 04

A certain day, Ilona came back from work and she found her trashcan being tipped over and it was clear that somebody had done some investigation there. She just thought that it would have been some hungry person and paid no attention.

Then, during many days she didn’t receive a phone call from Chester. She wondered why. She called him but he didn’t pick up the phone. As she wanted to know if something odd had happened, she went to his house.

Part 5 - 05

Once ringing the front doorbell, the door was opened but Chester was very bad humored. She didn’t understand why he acted like that and asked him to tell her his problem.

Part 5 - 06

Then Chester threw a letter on the table and said: “read it, it will explain everything”.
She took the letter and read: “My friend, I know how much you suffered in your life and I would like to avoid more suffering. I have to warn you because I know the history of that Ilona Picasso. That woman gave birth to twins and she abandoned them at the same moment. She wanted to go with another man but one is not enough for her; she is using them by the dozens.
As you can understand, that woman is not the kind that you need. I know she was born in a neighborhood at Simland, she studied there at university and afterwards she went to the Simish Islands where she really was known by all of the men. I suppose that you know which steps to take.”
The letter was signed by “A friend who wants the best for you”.

Part 5 - 07

After reading the letter, Ilona felt sick and almost vomited. Quietly se put the letter on the table and she said with a voice, cold as ice: “If you want to believe an anonymous letter, you don’t deserve my friendship”.
She turned around and she left his house high-headed but with a broken heart. Chester was left behind and started doubting.

Part 5 - 08

He thought: “It’s true; I shouldn’t believe an anonymous letter. At least I could have asked her if there was any truth in all this history but I didn’t even give her an opportunity. Besides that, we are not even engaged. She has no need to justify in my eyes.
He understood that this was a very delicate question and he decided to write her a letter.

Part 5 - 09

At home, Ilona cried and cried. She couldn’t deny that some part of the letter was true. She had given birth to twins but you couldn’t consider that she abandoned them.
She wondered if she cried over her past or her present time. Because she surely didn’t have a future; at least not with Chester…
She was unable to sleep but she had to go to work. She did the impossible that people wouldn’t notice her state of mind and, apparently it worked because she got a promotion. Even so, she felt horrible.

Part 5 - 10

Coming home, she noticed that there was a letter for her. It had no stamp so the writer of the letter had brought it there personally. The letter was Chester’s and it said:
“My dear friend, I hope that you don’t feel offended when I call you like this. It’s true what you said last evening; I don’t deserve your friendship. I have been thinking about it all evening and night.
I know you as a person with real sound habits and I know you’re not an easy woman for a man. I understand that I should not be forgiven for believing an anonymous letter. Besides that, I don’t have the right to know anything about your private life.
I beg you from the bottom of my heart to reconsider accepting me as a friend and please forgive me”.

Part 5 - 11

Ilona felt much better after reading the letter y she understood that he had to feel horrible so she phoned him to say that he had been forgiven.
When he asked her to have dinner together at the Bistro, she said: “No Chester, not today. I practically did not sleep last night and at this moment I’m more sleepy than hungry; perhaps tomorrow”.
Chester felt very relieved for being forgiven and he didn’t sleep very much either. For him it was also better to stay home and have an early night rest.

Part 5 - 12

A few days after, Ilona called him and invited him home. She said that 6:30 pm would be all fine.
Chester wanted so much to see her again that he was there already at 5:30 but he understood that he had to wait. He didn’t dare to go inside before the date time.
So, just like a scholar in love, he waited outside looking at the front door.

Part 5 - 13

At half past 6, he rang the bell and Ilona opened the door. She greeted him if though nothing had happened and had prepared already something to eat. After that she invited him to play chess at the terrace. That’s how they spent the evening.
There were moments that they were not just playing chess. Ilona had decided to tell Chester about her life.

Part 5 - 14

She told him about her parents: Mateo and Jessica who passed away a long time ago. She told him about her older brother Marvin who was married to Melissa and about their wonderful children.

Part 5 - 15

Her other brother is called Jackson and he married the girl he had been living with during many years. They had already two children as well but Ilona hasn’t seen them until the moment. The distance is quite big and often people forget each other…

Part 5 - 16

Then she told him that she was engaged during the last year of her universal studies until the boy left her for another woman.

Part 5 - 17

She explained that after university she wanted to have a nice quiet year before she would start to work and she went to the Simish Islands where she was presented to a couple of nobles; Lord Valdemar and Lady Jane. They were very unhappy. Although being in love with each other, Lady Jane was sterile. She couldn’t have any children.
They told her that in their family they could only have children with Celtic blood.

Part 5 - 18

They had observed that Ilona could have Celtic blood and investigated on her finding out that Ilona’s father Mateo (Matthew) was born in Simscotland and his mother was Celtic. That’s why they asked Ilona to give her consent for implanting her (clinically) the sperm of Lord Valdemar in order to give birth to a heir of their family.

Part 5 - 19

Ilona told Chester that she was scandalized by this proposition and told them “no”. But a few days later her fiancée Guillermo called her to say that he wanted to stop their engagement. She felt so sad and nothing mattered anymore. So, she made the decision of her life: If she couldn’t be happy, why not make that noble family happy…. They had offered to give her money but she didn’t want anything for it. Only the costs of the pregnancy were paid by them.
In hospital they implanted the sperm of Lord Valdemar and after 9 month she gave birth, not to one but to two babies. She told Chester that she was tempted to keep one of them but the personal doctor of the nobles didn’t allow her to.

Part 5 - 20

After the birth of the babies she felt very unhappy. She really was passing a bad time and in order to flee from her past, she emigrated to New Simland.

Part 5 - 21Ilona: “Now perhaps you can understand how I felt when you received this anonymous letter. Who could know about it? Not even my brothers know about the babies…”
Chester hardly could believe his ears. What a good hearted girl, wanting to help these people without receiving anything but gratitude! That must have been very difficult for her!
He told her that he was very grateful that she had decided to trust him.
